For
those who are interested,
I just put up the cover of
Zed #3. Click

I
added a couple of FX designs
to the gallery. One is from
The Iron Giant and
the other from Osmosis
Jones. Click
here to have a look.
Speaking
of Osmosis Jones, there
is a review up on Cartoon
Research web site (click
here). One of the line
is "The effects animation
in the film deserve special
mention - some of the best
I've ever seen". Well...
I haven't seen the finished
film yet, but I can say that
my effects animation team
really pulled through on this
one, and I do consider the
work I did on Osmosis
to be the best FX work I have
done so far (my position on
the film was Special Effects
Animation Artistic Supervisor).
Can't wait to see how it all
turned out!
I'm
glad to report that I will
be hosting a one and a half
hour presentation entitled
The Unpredictable Art of
Michel Gagné at
this summer's San Diego Comic-Con.
The presentation will take
place on Thursday, July 19
from 5:30-7pm in room 16A.

the Comic-Con, click

Prelude
to Eden aired on the Sci
Fi Channel (with my interview)
last Sunday and judging from
the response, it was a hit
- It is currently rating in
the top 5 of the season. Go
check out the Prelude
web page on SciFi.com and
if you feel like it, give
it a good rating to help keep
it in the charts! Click

For
those of you who haven't bought
my first book A Search
For Meaning: The Story of
Rex and are thinking about
it, now might be the time.
We have only 100 copies left
in our warehouse (garage).
Our sales on Amazon (and everywhere
else) are steadily going up
and we expect to sell out
shortly. We will have the
remainder for sale at the
Comic-Con. It's very likely
that the book will be gone
after that. To buy from Amazon.com,

When
I joined the Warner Brothers
Feature Animation division
in 1993, the studio was still
trying to decide which film
they were going to green light.
During the six months or so,
before I was assigned head
of effects on The Quest
for Camelot, I worked
in the visual developement
department, contributing to
various projects such as Blue
Beard, King Tut
and Shangri-La. One
of my assignments was to create
designs for the ghosts of
the 8 murdered wives of Blue
Beard. Click
here to check out what
I came up with.
